From the moment I first chatted with David and Teresa, they told me that they wanted their wedding to be very casual, essentially a bonfire where they just happened to get married at. Their big day ended up being more formal than that, but the sentiment remained. These two got married at 80 Acres in Leavenworth, KS. The venue is a charming lodge in the woods with a beautiful lake in the front. The ladies got ready in a wonderful little cabin tucked back into the woods. Teresa’s dress was delicate and beautiful, with the prettiest of lace. She looks absolutely gorgeous. One of my favorite moments from the day was the fact that Teresa’s mom did Teresa’s hair. It was really special. Teresa also wore flowers in her hair, an homage to her mother, who wore a floral crown on her wedding.
Their ceremony was intimate and filled with close friends and family. David and Teresa wrote their own vows and exchanged them beautifully. It was such a cool moment. After the ceremony, these two exited on a canoe and had their first ride as husband and wife. It was the first time I’ve ever had that and it made for some awesome pictures. These two arrived at their reception (by canoe) and it started with their guests playing yard games like cornhole and water pong. Everyone was having a blast. David is in the air force, and because of that, some of his friends were unable to attend. To make up for that, they carried a cardboard cutout of one of his friends. It was hilarious! Soon after that, the dancing started and it kept going all night long! As the night came to a close, they had a Smores station out by the bonfire. They ended their night with a beautiful fireworks show
These two were so visibly excited to get married. It made for such a wonderful wedding. I loved everything about their wedding day and I’m so grateful I got to be a part of it.
Congratulations, David and Teresa!
