Navy & Blush July Kansas City Wedding

David and Kaitlyn tied the knot on July 4th weekend and they definitely celebrated with a bang! They both spent the morning with their closest friends and family preparing for their big day. I loved their group of friends and it made my job so easy. I LOVED shooting their details! They had SO many personal little goodies on their wedding day. David’s wedding band belonged to his grandfather and he gifted her a bracelet that paid homage to their first date. This seems extraordinary to most people, but it’s becoming more and more normal the more I get to know David and Kaitlyn. They are exactly this thoughtful. Kaitlyn put on her stunning gown with help from her mom and little sister. I love these images!! However, my favorite part was when her Dad saw her for the first time! As a big time daddy’s girl I couldn’t stop myself from tearing up. David got ready with his groomsmen and dad. I LOVED David’s KC Skyline socks; they were just So classy!! Their first look was filled with anticipation, joy and hugs. These two were so excited that their wedding day was FINALLY here! We snagged a few family portraits outside before heading to Liberty Memorial I LOVE shooting there on a wedding day! There is so much versatility between the blue tile wall, skyline and green tree line. Up next was Nelson Atkins, I love their front steps! Their ceremony was held at Countryside Christian Church in Mission. This beautiful church held their wedding guests perfectly! These two transformed this church! I loved the candles and garland that lined the aisle.  After their ceremony their guests greeted this married couple with a red, white and blue confetti exit! The reception was held at The Monarch Room in the crossroads. They perfectly continued their navy, gold & blush theme in this space!  The first dances were one for the books! When it was Kaitlyn’s turn to dance with her father, he was overcome with emotion. I don’t think there was a single dry eye in the room.  Of course, at sunset I snuck these two love birds out for some portraits by the KC Star building. I love the teal color of their exterior! Stunning!! David and Kaitlyn, thank you so much for choosing me to capture your wedding day but also thank you for your friendship! I love it when clients turn into friends!!
