When I first met with Sarah and Austin they reminded me that they were both in the bridal party of a wedding I had shot a few years before and that the bride and groom would also be in their bridal party! How special is that!?
Sarah and Austin tied the knot on a Saturday in June and their day was one I’ll always remember. Everyone met at the President Hotel to get ready and spend the morning together. One of my favorite moments from getting ready was Sarah’s grandmother watching her get ready. This was such a sweet, sweet moment! Sarah’s dress was stunning! The simple silhouette complemented her timeless figure perfectly!
Austin and his groomsmen helped each other put the final touches on getting ready. Austin looked so classy in his black suit complete with a bowtie.
Their ceremony was held at Visitation Catholic Parish. The spanish inspired architecture makes this church so unique! Since these two didn’t share a first look they were both so very excited to start their ceremony. I think the groom might have even shed a tear!
After their ceremony it was time for photos! First, we stopped at The Nelson Atkins Museum. Their front stairs were the perfect location for their classic group shot. Up next was Loose Park where we time to relax and have fun! I loved spending the day with their bridal party, they were seriously the best! That day I believe the high was very close to 100 degrees and I didn’t hear one complaint! Before the next stop we took a second to stop for beverages but Mike and I took this opportunity to get some ice cream! Easily the best wedding snack I’ve ever had!! After seeing the excellent idea we had a few of the bridal party members ran back inside and got one for themselves! Ha!
Our final stop was at the Kauffman Center for Preforming Arts. I love this location, not only for the shell-like exterior but for their garden! The images of them there had to be some of my favorites! Their reception was held in the top floor of the President and the room was stunning!! The blush and gold theme completed the space wonderfully. When the bride and groom snuck up stairs to look at their reception Sarah surprised Austin with a grooms cake that had his dog on it! Jack was actually able to make it to their big day!! Their reception was so much fun! Their band had the dance floor pack the whole night and these two were having so much fun with all their friends! Congrats Austin and Sarah!!
